Hi! We’re Emma and Fin! We’re a married couple in our thirties who have been exploring non-monogamy for over 15 years. Every week we interview people from across the spectrums of gender, sexuality, and relationship styles to hear their amazing stories. Many of our guests identify as swingers or polyamorous. However, quite a few have redefined non-monogamy in their own way by creating a unique dynamic that works for them. We hope that by giving a voice to the diverse community exploring non-monogamy that we can show people they are not alone and inspire them to embrace their true selves so that, together, we can open minds and live authentically without shame. We hope you enjoy the show and who knows, maybe someday you’ll even be up for sharing your own story. We’d love to hear it!

Our first Focus Friday episode ever! These episodes are topic specific discussions with other contributors, a bit different from our traditional story-focused interviews. In this episode, we talk to some of our best friends, Jessica and Matt, who we came out to last summer. They have no background in non-monogamy, so we have a fun discussion with them trying to guess the meaning of vocabulary terms in the non-monogamy space and then us giving them the real meaning. In her early twenties Dedeker continually found herself wanting to cheat on her partners even though she loved them and still wanted to be with them. She never cheated, but after confessing this to a friend of hers one night, he pitched the idea of open relationships to her. After she was done being offended, she researched it extensively and began the incredible journey that led to the story she shared with us. Claire and Phil met in high school but didn't end up getting together until a few years later. They've been together for over 10 years now and sort of stumbled into non-monogamy pretty early on after giving each other hall passes in college. Spoiler alert, it was a learning experience! Since then they have had some ups and downs and explored a blend of swinging and polyamory. Lately, it seems as if they're finding their groove and they are loving it!

Brian and his wife have been exploring non-monogamy in various capacities over the past few years and have ultimately decided to separate. To protect her privacy, they decided the best strategy would be for Brian to share the story on their behalf and we appreciate their vulnerability in doing so. It's a great example of how many people leap to the conclusion that non-monogamy caused the relationship to end but as you will hear, it's a lot more nuanced than that.
