Hi! We’re your hosts Emma and Fin! We’re a married couple in our late thirties and we’ve been exploring non-monogamy in different ways since nearly the beginning of our relationship more than twenty years ago. But, this podcast isn’t about us…
We strongly believe there isn’t a “right way” to be non-monogamous or even that non-monogamy is better or more evolved than monogamy or any other relationship style. Every week we interview people from across the spectrums of gender, sexuality, and relationship style to learn from their incredible and powerful personal stories.
Each episode is a unique perspective and personal story… Pick one that sounds interesting and give it a listen!
We hope that by sharing the amazing journeys of those who are redefining and pushing the limits of what’s possible in relationships that we can show people that they’re not alone and inspire us all to embrace our true selves so that, together, we can open minds and live authentically without shame.

Anna and Groot met at a munch about four years ago while she was married and Groot was starting to explore non-monogamy. Since then, they have become primary partners and are currently in a mono - poly dynamic. They share some amazing insight with us into how this dynamic evolved and how it is the healthiest relationship either of them have ever been in. Groot also is a hobbyist writer on Literotica and wanted us to share this link to his work. Enjoy!

Welcome back to the Power of Witness Series!
This week we have Laura and Casey on the hot seat. They shared their story on our show on Episode 105. If you haven't listened to the introduction episode for the Power of Witness series yet, we highly recommend it before jumping into this episode.
Power of Witness is a collaboration project with Catherine from Expansive Connection. She is a licensed counselor and relationship coach who works with people that are exploring consensual non-monogamy.
Power of Witness is a group coaching course in which each week a different couple is on the "hot seat" and will work one - on - one with Catherine while the other couples in the group "witness" them and then provide feedback at the end of their session. Specifically, for this series we have brought back four couples who have previously shared their stories on the podcast to sit on the hot seat over the the next four weeks. This isn't our traditional format but it was incredibly powerful for us as we joined them for the journey and we know it will be impactful for you as well.
In psychology, the term “bearing witness” refers to sharing ourselves and our experiences with others or holding space while others share themselves and their experiences with us. There is much we can learn when we are brave enough to open our hearts to one another. Witnessing another person and being witnessed are both gifts to the other person and to ourselves. Being on either side of witnessing is a powerful opportunity for growth through acknowledgement, understanding, and skill acquisition.

Shannon and Daev started their relationship as part of a loose triad which quickly fell apart due to distance. The two of them stayed together and continued exploring swinging. They have recently began the transition to seeing if more of a polyamorous dynamic may be a better fit for them. Everything is still pretty new and they are very open and vulnerable about the challenges and difficulties they have faced together.

Courtney is the founder and executive director of the non-profit Something Positive for Positive People. This organization serves as an intervention resource at the intersection of the sexual and mental health stigma that connects people who are navigating the trauma of an STI diagnosis to mental health resources. Courtney has also been exploring non-monogamy for about a year and shares with us his journey in doing so while navigating pandemics, stigma, and life. He is an amazing human and this conversation is incredible. Enjoy!

Lea and Mark met at a nudist camp 20 years ago while Mark was leading birdwatching tours. Since then they have slowly opened their relationship at different times while taking breaks for themselves and to raise a kid. Their calm and collected journey into non-monogamy is a great example for anyone who is apprehensive or nervous. It is a great discussion and we hope you enjoy it!

We absolutely love Jeff's approach to life. You'll hear throughout the conversation how he is always up for new adventures and looking at the world in a new way. His positivity and willingness to learn new things is inspirational and extends far beyond his exploration of non-monogamy.
